Sand Castle Building Contest

Yesterday, was the annual sand castle building contest associated with Spoleto that takes place in Charleston. Our friends, the Smiths, come down every year and we all participate in the contest. The kids, Lizzie, Riley, Jensen, & Garrett, competed in the kids competition. This year they built a birthday cake, but unfortunately did not place. Greg, Neil, Chris, and Janice competed in the adult competition. They built a awesome sea serpent and won 2nd place in the most creative category. We feel it was their best ever and should have won first! But it was a great day and we went to the beach at 8:30am and didn't get home until after 5:00pm. All of us had some sunburn to show for the long day! Despite the sunburn, everyone had a SUPERB time! The guys are all ready talking about what to build next year.

Taylor Swift

I took Riley and Jensen to the Taylor Swift concert last night. The both had a great time although Jensen was ready to go by 10:00pm. Riley could have rocked-out all night! The pics are blurry, but I only had my phone. You can see how close Taylor got to us and Riley actually touched her! I must say that part of the concert was a nightmare because the entire crowd ran down to get close to her and trampled us. Jensen was knocked down by a girl who was obviously overserved. Mama Bear had to come out of the cave! I think I could get a job as a bouncer after last night!
